I was super excited to receive these lamps I thought they would match kind of a neutral tone around the room. They are quite large and yes, I looked at the measurements and compared it to the lamp that I had in that spot before I purchased. There are two things that do stick out. I had read it and somebody else’s review after I placed the order and now I’m wondering if I would’ve noticed or if it would’ve bothered me before reading it elsewhere. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention when purchasing the lamps however I thought they were going to be a little bit more distinct from each other. You can tell they were mass produced. Beautiful terracotta base. A substantial lamp that is full of earthy character. The shade didn't work for me though. Felt too big, and because I have the lamp sitting on a side table in our sunken living room, you could see too much of the inside and the bulb. I realized I needed an empire shade instead of a drum, so I had to spend the extra money to purchase a different shade. But I'm happy with the purchase overall. Note that you can see a "seam" (one on each side) where the potter put the two pieces together I assume. I like it and think it adds to the character, but others may not.. Andrea.
