Tried & True Honest opinion for the Royal Shade Sail Triangle with roping cables in the 18x18x18 size. Many of my friends have the canvas sunshades, always commenting either how heavy or moldy they can become after one season. I researched on WayFair for an ideal solution finding this particular style in the white color. Made out of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) this is considered to be a strong, lightweight, and durable thermoplastic made from petroleum. Known for its high strength-to-density ratio and excellent resistance to chemicals and moisture, it is one of the most widely used plastics in the world, however there are some draw backs as I temporarily hung it above my back patio. Ironically, as soon as this was delivered, my HOA advised to take everything down off of the house since I am scheduled for the upcoming painting cycle. Being hung temporarily, it was easy to hang, sun shining thru brightened the area under a canopy as providing an easy shade. The unveiling: packaged well, instructions and hardware included. I included the no no's on the instruction page as one has to wait for the fold wrinkles to iron out themselves over time, no regular ironing, no dryer, no dry clean, no scrubbing with a stiff brush or cleaners, no bleach as can lead to permanent breakdown of fabrics. UM.....alrighty then. The fabric is definitely a loose plastic weave with tiny air holes thru out to allow air flow. Not water proof (as stated) as I sprayed a hose over it, water does pool in any loose areas so make sure the fabric is very taught. Light weight for traveling and can be hung by one person. Included are pictures up close of the material as not really seen on the website. Now knowing what to expect, no surprises at this time, I am looking forward to hanging it up over the patio, and sitting under the canopy of shade for the upcoming summer heat. Enjoy!. Kelly. I think the quality of the actual product is very good. Quality fabric and stitching. The problem is I ordered a beige shade and received a clearly raincoat yellow one. As bright yellow doesnt match with any of the deck decor, this shade cannot be used. I ordered this through the tried true program so I am unable to exchange it. Nice quality material but design not well thought out. Pole sections do not bolt together. They fit onto the top of each one below. There is definite concern that a wind load on the sail could pull the pole apart with potentially catastrophic results (if the sail is blown around with a heavy top section of pole attached). Can’t understand why the sections would not bolt together, especially since the bottom screw tipped section does not screw into the ground deep enough to effectively anchor the pole for a sail. If they bolted together, you could turn the 2nd bolted section to drive the 1st section deeper into the ground. Didn’t anyone think about that?? Seems obvious.. Elizabeth. Bay Head, NJ. Our sail shade poles for ground are precision machined from solid steel. They are 2.5 inches in diameter and 1.8mm thick. They consist of three connecting sections and total 10 feet in length. The fixed base is equipped with four M16 expansion screws to provide a strong grip and ensure that the shade sail pole is firmly installed, providing you with reliable protection from the sun on hot summer days.

Order on a great sale & it remained boxed for a couple of months. Hung it (all by myself) 3 weeks ago using bungy cords & then zip ties as I tighten as it straightens out. (Finally fully flat & tight.) Looks great! Works fabulous for keeping my yard cooler for my pups. (Sorry - yard is a work in progress - but it is already HOT in Houston & this helps tremendously!!.).
