Nice design and hardware with pneumatic supported hinges but the metal screws into plastic will definitely need loctite to prevent loosening from usage heat/cold and flex. The deck box came securely shipped in its own wooden box. There was no damage to the shipping container and the deck box itself was in great condition. Assembly was a challenge. The instructions are minimal, a single page with no text. It says to buy Gorilla Glue which is not included but there is glue included. It says to glue the joints together before final assembly - I chose not to do this as I was afraid I would do it wrong and be unable to fix it after. Seems very turdy without the glue by the way. I was able to assemble the four sides and the bottom by myself. Adding the bottom was tricky. There are 10 bolts that are used to attach it - 3 of them did not align with the pre-drilled holes. Again, seems plenty sturdy with just seven bolts. You will need another pair of hands to help attach the top to the hinges. The deck box looks great in the end! I dropped a star for the assembly. Love this cabinet! Although designed as an outdoor cabinet, it’s beautiful enough to grace the indoors. This cabinet is well constructed, solid and a breeze to assemble. The directions are very clear and easy to follow. You can’t beat this box for the price. I bought it to hold a Sonos subwoofer which it does nicely. The finish on the box isn’t great, but I was looking to paint it so for me that was a don’t care. Note that the picture is my painted version - the box is medium brown with some kind of thin clear finish. Putting this together took about 5 minutes.
