The 4"W solid Maple flooring, by Bruce brand, in a shinny cherry finish, was a life saver for our reno. We had to match our existing flooring, and it worked. (However, once installed the finish got damaged by painter's tape, so we ended up sanding the cherry finish off.) The floors natural finish is also lovely with a matte clear seal. Unlike most factory-finished hardwood floors which have a bevel along the upper edges and ends of the floor, the Natural Choice 5/16 in. thick solid product from Bruce features a Square-edge, Square-end profile. Unique in the industry from Bruce, this gives you much more of a traditional sand-and-finish or "site-finished" visual with all of the advantages of a heavy-duty, factory-applied finish. I LOVE this flooring. I have had about 1800 sq feet down for 4 years and just purchased more. My installer thought it was hardwood when he arrived and I had a bit layed out.
