This Belgian jacquard tapestry, Bayeux Mont St. Michael, is an extract of the queen Mathilde's tapestry. The original some 230 feet long, is in the Bayeux museum in Normandy. It describes how England was conquered by Normans. Also known as L'Embarquement. Here Duke William and his army come to the Mount of Michael. This piece adds an air of sophistication as it displays one of the histories most historical moments.

It’s lovely but honestly thought it would be bigger. I ordered the largest size but it doesn’t look as big as the example picture. Love the colors though!. Juliet. Indianapolis. Sat Feb 12 2022

A winged bull with a fine white coat walks proudly toward the right. With its head drawn into its neck and stiff-legged walking gait, the bull's body is animated by the movement of its raised tail. The Winged Bull is a Belgian made jacquard wall tapestry. This image originally decorated the walls of the palace built by Darius I (549-486 BCE) at Susa. His palace was inspired by that of King Nebuchadnezzar's Ishtar Gate in Babylon. The Susian bull, an image of strength and power, protection and defense, personifies the royal authority. The bull figure has also been found in the stone reliefs at Persepolis with or without wings also shown in action, in a confrontation with a lion. This stunning piece complements your home decor motif adding a sophistication to your atmosphere that only ancient art can provide.

Quality made and well received. Thanks!. Margaret. Pittsfield, NH. Fri Jun 04 2021

This tapestry is beautiful and well made, but the colors in the item as received are much more neutral and less vibrant than what is reflected online. I've included a screen grab of the product photo from wayfair.com in a side-by-side comparison of the tapestry I received. Overall satisfied with the purchase but the website image could be updated, and the inclusion of thumb tacks as "hardware" is, in my opinion, uneccessary.. Sarah. Germantown, MD. Sun Oct 06 2024

Exotique is a Belgian wall tapestry depicting the pineapple harvest. From a set of ten tapestries called The History of the Chinese Emperor commissioned by Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, son of King Louis XIV, to the Beauvais Manufacture. At the end of the 17th century the Jesuit missionaries were returning from China with tales and knowledge that were to influence the royal courts of Europe. These tapestries, very exotic for the time, were initially made for the Rambouillet castle. A fine accent to your home decor.

Mucha Soir, also known as Evening Contemplation, is a Belgian jacquard wall tapestry. In this tapestry evening, time is personified by the imagery of a woman in an elegant evening gown resting by the woods. The artwork comes from pioneering Czechoslovakian artist, Alphonse Mucha; part of his Hours of the Day series from 1899. The scene is surrounded by delicate leaves and bordered with flowers. The softness and elegance of Mucha's works is especially seen in this piece with the delicate use of colors to convey the feeling of an evening approaching. Mucha's works frequently featured beautiful young women in flowing, vaguely Neoclassical looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers which sometimes formed halos behind their heads often using pale pastel colors. The Mucha Style became known as Art Nouveau French for new art and was often imitated. A wonderful addition to your home decor motif.

absolutely beautiful...the back is lined...when ordering dont recall anything was mentioned about it being lined... weaving is tight... colors are soft neutrals... will enjoy forever and ever and ever.... Karel. NM. Tue May 19 2020
