These are nice storage cabinets. It took about 8 hours to assemble two units. We put 2 of these cabinets in a nook in a bedroom. They fit perfectly Instructions were clear and helpful. The shelves are stationery but will hold many things. We like the added glass doors at the top, which make it a little nicer in appearance. I gave 4 stars because 1 of the tall doors came with only 2 holes bored for the hinges. So we had to wait for it to be replaced before we could finish. Wayfair is very fast to respond to damage or parts issue and they worked with the manufacturer to get the door replaced in just a few days! It did take 2 people to place the top of the unit onto the bottom half safely. This is a very nice piece and went together very well. I was really happy to find a tall cabinet style here that fits my decorating needs. But after installation, I found that the glass doors just wouldnt close properly. Its a quality issue—the magnets arent strong enough to hold the doors against the front frame. This left me quite disappointed. We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell.
