*Perfect* fit behind the entry door to my small apartment. It does not impede opening at all, and adds a lot of space to simply PUT THINGS DOWN as you come in. I put it together myself and only had to re-do one shelf - in other words, the directions were very good because I am horrible at furniture assembly.
