Beautiful planter and sturdy. Perfect for my needs. I filled the top of the planter (above the shelve) with styrofoam, added a fake plant, and topped off with stones. We used these on our back patio and added faux shrubbery to add some greenery. These are metal and VERY sturdy. You could even put bricks or rocks in the base if you live in a windy spot. We did not need to. Inside, there is a medium level area to fill with dirt to plant. So if you were actually putting living plants, you wouldn't have to pay to fill the entire thing with dirt.
