We totally love the new hallway doors! They have replaced 1980s louver doors and make the entry now feel so contemporary and up-to-date. Yes, we relied on our local contractor to install them, as they needed to be trimmed to fit the existing height requirement. The door looks nice and works well overall. One thing to note if you’re installing it in a frame with a traditional door stop built into the jamb, it may have trouble closing properly. Installation wasn’t too difficult, but make sure to read the instructions thoroughly before starting. Updating to edit- the doors were great out of the box, but once we got them hung, they started coming apart around the shaker trim/molding. We’ve tried using wood glue and clamps to secure it but it keeps pulling apart. We’re left with non-functioning doors. Doors look great! It’s a perfect fit and true to size. Super easy to install as well. My only complaint would be that the wheels on the bottom can be adjusted to make the door sit a little higher. The 80" & 96" Double White Primed Panel Bi-Fold Door is a beautiful and well built door. Important Concern: The moment you receive this door, place the door, while still in the box, in your garage for at least 2 weeks. The box and door have an extremely strong chemical scent that is unbearable and strong. If you immediately install this door, you will regret it. The smell is so strong, it will permeate your entire home. To continue with other aspects, some assembly is required, but it not difficult. The door is very nice. The dark walnut is beautiful. But the installation was difficult. The instructions were tough to decipher. All the boards in the instructions are numbered, but the boards themselves dont have numbers on them, nor does any of the hardware. All the boards are tongue and groove style. The smaller boards are screwed onto the longer boards, which creates a very solid door. The hinges work very well. The wheels roll smoothly on the track. There are instructions for whether you want it to fold to the left or to the right, but they are VERY confusing. I couldnt make much sense of it. I had to just just figure most of it out myself. These are good quality and they were carefully packed for shipping. BUT the instructions are vague and cryptic. And there are no pilot holes or pre drilling, no marks even. Great customer service. One of the mirrors had a crack and Wayfair quickly resolved. The pivot door instructions aren’t flawless but they’re good enough. The pivot doors swing perfectly.
