On New Year's Eve, the bells in Buddhist temples are rung 108 times, once for each of the 108 worldly desires. In the East bells have become very important and are often decorated with significant symbols. For centuries, tuned bells have been suspended in homes and temples to ward off evil and attract good luck and prosperity. Update: I moved the product in more of an open area where the buzz sound isn't so prevalent. I find that our guests are mesmerized by it! It's a great conversation piece. I added a star for that from my original review Previous review: I wanted to really like this, however, the sound the motor makes may be relaxing to others, but the buzz is not relaxing to my ears and more of an irritant. Maybe it is soothing to others. The concrete square doesn’t fit down in the platform so I may turn the platform over, but then worry of the piece gets knocked that the water will go everywhere. How cute is this table top fountain! The fountain is well constructed and was very easy to get it started. The colors are beautiful. My only complaints is that, you don’t hear much of the water so I don’t get that esthetic feeling when it’s on. It’s actually very quiet. This is a pretty little fountain, the colors are more vibrant than I expected, which I love. The designs are very pretty and it seems well made. It is also a small fountain, more for like a desk than say an entry way. The only real issue I have with it is that the pump is louder than the water trickling sounds.
