Sundial Water Fountain

This solar fountain is made of lightweight and durable stone-grey polyresin and fiberglass and features a pineapple topper with two stacked basins. Water flows from the top pineapple into the central basin, which fills and then overflows into the largest bottom pool before circulating. This fountain operates via solar power or the battery. In bright sunlight, the panel powers the pump while the battery pack collects and stores a charge. When cloudy or nighttime, the battery pack will activate and power the unit; when fully charged, it can do so for as many as 4 hours. When the batteries are depleted, the system automatically attempts to draw power from the panel and will resume running once the sun come out. This fountain consists of a base bowl and 3-tiers that send water flowing down from one to the other. Set up a little while ago layers snap but don’t seem very tight. Its much louder streaming than I thought, tried adjusting pump but haven’t gotten it to sound smoother trickling. The top bubbler is very wobbly. All in all the fountain looks nice just need to tweak the pump I guess. Not very easy to adjust the pump sine it’s enclosed. Works excellent! Built it with a solar pump kit (SKU: W120104564 sold by Wayfair) and fountain runs 24/7 and only turns off when water gets low and the pump safety valve turns it off so it doesn’t burn out the motor. When screwing the fountain pieces together let the pieces find their groove on the threads so the fountain stays level and is not lopsided once all together. If converting to solar you will need to pop out the rubber gasket that is in the middle of the bottom tier of the fountain. Split the rubber gasket at the seam and remove the electrical cord for the included pump and replace it with the cord for the solar pump. Use GE 100% Silicone sealant to fill any gaps/ spaces in the center of rubber gasket/ plug, reseal the seam with silicone and spread silicone around the outer edge of the plug/ gasket and put it back in the base, let set for 24 hours before adding water. Cute fountain, a bit shorter than I realized. Had some blemishes in the glazing where it looks like someone applied a different material to fix it? The instructions didn’t include a great diagram of the part labeled “leak protector” so I had to find an online instruction manual for a similar fountain from the same company, which used the same part. The pump was a bit unwieldy to position. So far it’s a pleasant sound of water, no drips. Not sure if any birds will use it, I was hoping the sphere on top would attract hummingbirds to bathe. Its a bit smaller than I expected, but I still love it. I had to replace a previously bought bird bath that I purchased from Wayfair several years ago that finally weathered out. The birds took to this new one right away I am pleased. The color is very nice!! The only thing is all the attachments for the fountain cause the water to dissappear very quickly so we dont use one.
