My condo has french doors in the living room and one bedroom. Even with blinds, the east morning sun heats up the entire unit, taking it all day to cool down. I have been able to lower my thermostat an average of about 2-3 degrees during the day since applying the film and I no longer have to keep the blinds closed tight all day. Surprisingly, it didnt make my room seem dark. The photo above shows the doors with film on the right side only and you can see it doesnt darken the room much. This window film is very thick. It gives a lot of privacy. Light filters through, but only blurry shapes are visible. Application was simple on a clean window. We dampened the glass, positioned a slightly oversized piece of this product, squeegeed out the air bubbles, trimmed the excess with a hobby knife, and squeegeed one last time.. Belle. Not quite as easy to put on the window as I had hoped because after application I did have some bubbles. I have to believe that’s part of the risk that goes along with these decals. However, it is a good solution for privacy on the small pane windows that line our front door. Of course someone can see movement behind them but they can’t see into the house with any clarity. This is an excellent film to block sunlight. It does distort your view through the window, but it also completely blocks the view from outside (the second photo is a close up outside) so it is excellent for a bedroom or bathroom window.
