The chair does fully recline to an almost horizontal mode you just need to pull the chair away from the wall if you have it close to allow space. It is not a huge, oversized chair - but that's great because we needed something that would pair nicely with our existing living room furniture without swallowing up the room. My only concern is keeping it clean with 2 teenage boys...but we shall see. It looks like it can be spot cleaned pretty well, but time will tell. I also would've loved it be just a wee bit darker beige, but it is a nice creamy color (in pics the view from behind is more accurate color in person). It is very comfortable, and I love that it is "push back" without extra latches, pulls, pockets, or needs to be plugged in to recline. Fantastic, exactly what I was searching for. These chairs were easy to assemble, the fabric has a nice soft feel. I was worried because a few reviews said they were shiny and they arent. These chairs would probably be 1000 each in a furniture store, we paid less than that with tax for 2. They are heavy ( I wouldnt want to carry them upstairs - they come in 1 box) and feel like quality. My husband is 62 and 275 lbs . He can lean backrecline and the chair is stable. He likes the chairs as much as I do. The chair backs are a good height from the seat. Allowing you to rest your head to take the pressure off your neck. It’s comfortable, has good lumbar support and not too much head support which my neck likes. As others have said, it won’t stay fully back in the reclined position which is ok. I just watch tv in it. It’s not a huge recliner which is good. There are, however some marks on one arm that should not be there. It’d be a huge problem to return it.
