Building this shelf was no joke. Granted, the instructions say 2 people to put it together but I'm one of those independent women. Took me about 2.5 hours alone. The tabs were not easy to fight with to get them in the right position but it's fantastic when it's done. It actually looks nice and not as industrial as I was expecting. I'm using it for linens and things like that so I won't be putting anything super heavy on it. The shelf surfaces are made of compressed cardboard or something like that so I wouldn't trust it with anything really heavy. We are using this as shoe storage in our master closet - it fits nicely under the area with a top hanging clothes rack - we have built ins but needed a little more shoe storage- I like the sturdiness of the real wood and the ability to adjust each shelf height - it really matches our built ins and gives us some extra storage without the costs of of having more custom build ins made- assembly was involved but came with everything we needed except the tools and were easy to follow. I really like the look of this cabinet! I got it to house my purses. It fit perfectly into my entry closet, although I had to finish constructing it inside the closet, which was tricky. It was actually enjoyable to assemble. It’s not real wood, of course, but it doesn’t look flimsy or low-grade. The anti-tip brackets work well for attaching to the wall.
