This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. Very nice bed, the only downside is the mattress lays flat (there is no lip on the edge) so the mattress slides very easily. Looking to possibly install something to keep it from moving. This bed is very well made and super sturdy. All the parts and screws fit together perfectly. It came securely wrapped and packed. It took my husband and I 6 hours to put together. Instructions could be a little more clear. It’s all pictures and some of them are tiny and not so easy to decipher. Something to think about when considering whether to pay the $86 for someone to come assemble it for you. The drawers slide gently and align perfectly. They are lined inside with the sturdy pressed wood material and reinforced on the bottom to hold weight. They aren’t wire cages as I have seen in other drawer beds.
