The table is very well made. Very sturdy and has a tempered glass top. The extensions at each end of the table are easy to open and close. Needed bigger table without spending alot and this is perfect! As with all my Wayfair purchases, I am very pleased. This thing is an absolute beast! You are going to need a partner, not just to carry it in, but to unpack and assemble. Give yourself plenty of floor space and time. I can't tell you how long it will take in one sitting because we worked on it over a period of several nights. It was a challenge to line things up at times, but patience and persistence paid off. The frame is metal and very sturdy. Not sure what the top is made of, but it appears to be, perhaps, some sort of a laminate. If you are tough on tabletops [like a crafter for instance] I would not recommend this. But for dining ... perfection! Last note: for some reason I thought I ordered a table with a leaf, for versatility. There is no leaf. It is one long table. But it is gorgeous, well made and will serve us well for many years.. That being said, I was able to assemble it by myself and get it turned right side up onto its legs by myself also. I am a 74 year old woman who is almost totally blind in one eye and I have significant tremors in both hands. THAT is how easy it is to assemble this piece with the provided scrws and alan wrench! Just attach the legs- period! The screw holes are threaded metal and perfectly located. The extension is automatically brought up when you pull on the end of the table. It is very smooth operating! I absolutely love this dining table and how it instantly elevated my space. It took maybe five minutes from start to finish and it was just to attach the legs to the top. Everything came well packaged and protected, and the instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. There were only two very minor things worth noting. There was a tiny chip on one corner of the glass when it arrived. It wasn’t very noticeable and didn’t affect the functionality or overall look of the table. Also, the words “tempered glass” are printed in small text on the surface of the table, which I personally wish wasn’t there. Aside from those small details, this table is incredibly sturdy, stylish, and well-made.
