I was on the fence about this protector before receiving. I have always used a mattress pad, but with my new mattress I was sleeping consistently hotter than usual. Yes the price did scare me I had just spent quite a bit on the mattress and now another 300. Well I did it and do not regret one minute. I sleep cooler and more comfortable. And yes it is water proof I tested it to see. Wayfair had the best price overall plus I had a little reward from where I had purchased something else a while back so that made the sting a little easier and if you need the 6 months to pay then that’s no brainer.. Yes, they are expensive and worth every penny! I'm not sure WHY the title has the word "Sateen" in the description. These are the same SUPERIOR brand sheets I have purchased for 12-15 years and they are 100% Egyptian Cotton and sturdy not thin like many of sateen sheets are. I ordered the slate gray and they are definitely not gray if you're really looking for that color. They are a nice color of pale blue (see photos) and the sheets are soft and appear to be good quality. They had a strong odor upon opening the box but once washed they are fine. These are nice sheets, they are definitely feeling as if they are 100 cotton. These are nice and lightweight sheets. They do seem a little in the thinthread bear side. Before I washed these sheets they felt softer. Almost like they might be a brushed cotton. Or Sateen. Now the sheets feel stiffer and crisp. Which isn’t a bad thing. I purchased this sleep sofa for my family room. If I need an extra sleep space for guests, this is what I selected. My number 1 reason for selecting this sofa is because it’s from Stearns Foster. I already own a mattress from them and have been extremely satisfied with the quality and comfort. I purposely sought out Stearns Foster to see if they even offered sleep sofas. I was pleased to see they did and also the mattress is more substantial at 8” thick versus many that are much thinner. The seating is firmer than many standard sofas, but that is to be expected when there is a mattress tucked into the sofa.
