We’ve had several wood stove kettles. What we liked about this one is the vents in the lid which allow for more steam to be released. One inconvenient feature is that the knob on the lid is very small. When the kettle is hot, you need to use a glove to lift the lid. It’s difficult to grasp the knob with a bulky fireplace glove. I like it a lot but the whistle is not something I expected. It hummms so if you are in another room or the TV is on, you’ll likely won’t hear it so make sure you pay attention .
