Have been using this composter for several weeks now and there has been zero smell or issue with insects. It's very spacious too, it will take me the rest of the summer to fill it probably. This has worked well for us. Way to out together and produces a great compost. One thing to note is that the compost can rest on the bottom ledge inside which can make it difficult to open the doors. Very pleased with this composter. It took about 1hr to put together. The instructions were clear and concise. The screws and such were clearly labeled and in separate bags. At first, when I ordered it they said I wouldn't get it for several more months (we're looking at close to a year wait at this point) but it showed up just a week after my order went through. The composter itself looks sturdy though it's too new to tell for long-term durability. It was easy to put together. I had my heart set on THIS composter, and sadly couldn't find it anywhere else, trust me I looked. I planned to turn it into R2D2. Which I did. The body took the spray paint well. Recieved super fast. This was easy to put together. Also, it came with general use instructions. It has 2 sides, barrier in middle. We are new to composting, so I havent started anything in it yet. I like that I didnt have to screw but 2 bolts. The frame snaps together and the tumbler only needs the center partition placed and then the door slides on. 10 minutes! Its nice and sturdy, and easy to tumble. The compost will be easy to remove by sliding the door open and rotating it downward. My compost is only a week into the making and its 80 degrees. The quality seems as excellent as you will see on reviews elsewhere. Only a week in for us now now and this thing is 'cooking.' Note that, as another review 'complained', the color delivered was green, not grey as pictured and described online. Thankfully I had read that review and was fine with either color. The color issue is for Wayfair customer service and shouldn't affect the product quality review. The way they show it installed on the side of the house is pretty troublesome too. Made from North American cedar, these bins allow you to turn household waste into natural fertilizer for your lawn, garden, and flower beds. Simply layer "greens" (such as vegetable and fruit peelings, coffee grounds, tea bags, and grass clippings) and "browns" (such as eggshells, cardboard, corncobs, and cotton towels), then allow the materials to begin composting. The bins’ open design makes it easy to turn the pile every two to three weeks using a shovel or pitchfork, aerating the compost and speeding up the breakdown process. Depending on your climate and the mix of materials, your compost will be ready to use in 3 to 12 months. For a continuous supply of compost, consider creating a multi-bin system with our add-on kits.
