My cat and I absolutely love this box! He is a 15 lbs boy so he needs his box to be large, especially because he's a "long" kitty rather than a chubby one. This one now is his favorite box and I think the reason is because it's open-top. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to see his business while walking past it, and that it would be so stinky because it's open. But after a month of testing it, it actually isn't bad at all. The stainless steel doesn't trap oders almost at all! Once I clean his mess, it's completely gone. No scratched floor, no plastic that holds on to any stinky smell, and it doesn't stain at all. Cleaning it is a breeze and nothing sticks to the bottom that requires scraping. Also I was worried that urine would leak out from the area where the top half connects with the base bin, but so far no issues. Unless your kitty sprays too high, I’m thinking this should work perfectly. It comes with its own scoop that can be hung to the side wall of the box as shown in the picture (although it isn't my preferred scooper as I like metal ones better). The box itself is awesome! Stainless steel, so no more trapped odors and scratched up plastic bins. Front and top entries. Removable lid both partially and fully. Sturdy and high quality. Scooper included with a little groove on either side of the box to hang it on. Small litter trapper step that I don't think is beneficial for me because my cat BOLTS out of his box like he's being chased by a wolf! So I used a large litter mat (not that he actually walks out on it, but it might catch a tiny bit of litter while he's storming out lol) So far, my big guy showed no interest in actually using the box. He's a 14 lbs. domestic shorthair, but he's rather long. So the box might be a bit too small and tight for him. I am still hopeful he'd eventually put it to use because I absolutely love this box!. This litter box is a great improvement looks wise. It is sleek and modern. However, I haven’t completely set it up yet and will have to do some troubleshooting to finish but I know I will get it figured out. The main reason I wanted a new box is because my setup was really ugly with a black mat full of loose litter the cats track out. I don’t know how effective the new box will be with the added little litter piece that the cats are supposed to walk across to get in and out. I may have to remove that part and put the ugly black mat back down. I am happy with the metal pan because I think it will help control odor better. There are two doors, one on top and one in front. The front door works both ways, the top door opens outwards. I did have to make sure the cover was snapped together properly so the front door didn't catch. The front is hinged to lift up further if needed for cleaning. I really appreciate the slots in the front of the box to catch litter back into the pan. It works well in conjunction with the stool to help prevent litter being scattered on the floor. I also like the scent absorber in the top. The holder for it will accommodate other scent absorbers when it needs to be replaced. It also comes with a stainless steel scoop that can be conveniently hung on the side of the pan. You do have to put it together when it comes in. Instructions are included. They are easy enough to understand and assembly is pretty straightforward. The cover is two parts that snap together with plastic tabs. Then the cover goes on the stainless steel pan and snaps on with side latches. You can undo the latches to take the top off if needed.
