We love our Bodum French Press. We have one for each of us. The 17oz size is perfect for the person who only wants 2 cups of coffee. The design is modern and so beautiful! I make sure to hand dry the stainless steel press so it always looks shiny. We usually wrap our presses with a clean dish cloth so it stays warm even longer. We use two tablespoons ( included is a plastic spoon) of courser ground coffee so grounds do not sift through the mesh plunger. Set your timer for 4 minutes and then push down gently on the plunger. Don’t forget to line up the little ‘arrow’ on the lid with spout. Voila!. Jasmin. Bonita Springs, FL. Wed Oct 19 2022

The carafe holds 20 fluid ounces (600 milliliters) and measures 4.02 inches in length, 5.43 inches in width, and 7.87 inches in height when assembled. The outer frame provides a protective casing around the glass beaker and incorporates a handle with heat-insulating properties. The filter assembly disassembles by unscrewing the top knob, separating the mesh screens and rod for cleaning after each use. The press operates by adding coarse-ground coffee or loose-leaf tea to the carafe, pouring heated water over the grounds, allowing a steeping period of 3 to 5 minutes, then pressing the plunger downward to compress grounds against the carafe floor. The 600 ml capacity yields approximately 2 to 3 standard coffee servings per brew cycle. The unit weighs 1.08 pounds when assembled. All components are hand-wash recommended to preserve the mesh filter integrity and glass clarity. Manufactured in Turkey. The press functions without electrical power or disposable paper filters.

And we still produce it with the same painstaking craftsmanship we used way back when with the original. The frame, made of steel, undergoes several chrome plating processes to obtain a durable shiny surface that will last for many years of intense use. The only difference in the production process since the fifties is our commitment to the highest standards of environmentally correct manufacturing, which is especially important during the chrome plating process. The black polypropylene handle comes in a matte finish that not only gives a comfortable grip while serving but adds to the classic quality of the design. The French press system has always been the simplest and ultimate way of brewing an excellent cup of coffee.
