I am writing this review before the backsplash can be installed. The backsplash is thin stainless. This was exactly as described. Measurements were great, metal is strong, shelf is useful as are the utensil hooks under the shelf. We chose not to drill into the tile to adhere. We used adhesive to secure to the tile backsplash and the top edge slid under the stainless range hood already installed. Seemless, clean, great price and gives a very polished finished look. I really like this backsplash it adds extra storage right where I cook and cleans up very easily. The instructions were only a small photo and had quite a few different verisions available which made it a little more complicated to put together and in the book and the sticker on the backsplash both said to take the white plastic off before installing but my plastic was a dark silver so it took me a bit to understand that it needed to come off I thought mine just didn't come with white plastic over it. I bought 4 shelfs 2 4 feet and 2 5 feet for my kitchen. They were easy to install with 2 people one to hold and one to screw them into the wall. While the description said easy to hang, I assumed (my fault I guess) that it would come with hangers of some sort. I was surprised to find the back had double-sided tape for hanging (like you can buy at any hardware store). The tape actually shows through the glass. I cannot use the tape to hang as we have log walls in our kitchen and I was looking for something what would work for that application - not sure how I will go about mounting this on our wall. I had been eying a metallic backslash but was concerned that the kitchen would be too dark. I purchased the white vinyl tile to tie in with the white sink and I am so glad that I did. Its beautiful! Although I used liquid nails, I purchased the kit with edging so that if the tile sags down the road, the edging will keep it in place. Contact cement or cold set adhesive can be used to install. It’s easy to install if you’re a beginner and working with a flat surface. However if you need this molded and shaped you may need a professional for the job. This is a picture of the sheet up close. Notice how bright and gold it appears just beautiful.
