I’ve had these for five years now and i’m obsessed. i e received dozens of compliments over the years. I sprayed immediately to get the rust color. I do wish I only sprayed a little so I could have enjoyed the grey a bit longer because it was gorgeous as a mix of color but it is what it is. Looking for an authentic, weathered outdoor metal planter? Start with this bare steel planter and let nature slowly do the rest. Corten steel was originally developed for use in railroad cars. It is considered “weathering steel” and is made of a group of alloys that together have exceptional tensile strength and corrosion-resistant properties. When exposed to the weather, the steel forms a layer of rust on its surface that serves as a protective coating. This controlled corrosion creates the rustic, antiquated appearance for which Corten steel has best become known. The weathering process may take a month or so depending on the elements to which the planter is exposed. Note: Oxidation in Corten steel is typically slow, but some planters exposed to excessive rain or moisture/heat combinations might weather more quickly. Similar to eager gardeners planting bulbs in the fall expecting brilliant colors in the spring, anticipation for the transition from bare steel to a weathered rust-look is part of the natural gardening experience.

Modern and unique Faisal Stainless Steel Wood Burning Fire Pit for organic integration into a contemporary garden and outdoor living life. No smartphones and no sophisticated applications. Just old friends, good stories and cozy warmth of the fire. The time has stopped. The bowl is made of rusting (carbon) steel, which comes from the factory "shining" and starts rusting when it gets out of the box. Usually, this natural process takes a couple of weeks. Orren Ellis Deco products are made of high-quality metal and the rusting process may take up to two months. The rusting process would start faster by dipping a bowl into salted water.

I am charmed by the interesting lines and complex rust patterns on this fire pit we use on our lakeside patio. Because the designer omitted a drain hole, between uses, I empty the ash and turn the bowl upside down to prevent rain from collecting in the bowl. My husband finds the design confusing when he needs to right the bowl, but the notches on the sides of the bowl provide clues to fit it accurately to the angular base.. Elizabeth. Greenville, IL. Absolutely love this! I read all the reviews first, so I wasn’t surprised by the rust or the packaging. Ours arrived double boxed, as the inside box looked like it went through a tumbler. The metal itself was unharmed and just what I’d hoped for.. Christina. US. Wed Jun 17 2026

Create a cozy patio setting as you watch the flames dance from this unique fire bowl

I've had this fire pit for several years now. I will say, it's held up well for all the abuse I've given it! Some very big, hot fires. I use it for yard/tree debris, and the occasional, sit around the fire with a glass or two of wine. It's been left out in the rain and snow and none the worse for it. My only complaint is the design cut into the metal. A few more connections would have made it better. Some of the deer/antlers have warped, probably from the heat, and are leaning out. Other than that, a nice buy.. Laurie. Waterford, PA. Fri Mar 15 2024
