The staircase going up to the bed is wonderful and provides more safety than a traditional ladder type bed. The lights are a fun addition to the bed providing a nice glow around the bed. The only complaint I think we had when putting together is the screws labeled D were too short for some of the parts they instructed us to use them for so we used the longer one of the same size (Screw A) and it worked out. I am obsessed and so is my toddler! It's a beautiful bed, well made, full of storage, and fairly easy to put together (though time consuming, took us 3 hours with two people). My one comment is thay the slide should reach one rail higher to better align with the top of the mattress. For reference, we bought an 8" mattress (the recommended 6" is impossible to find sheets for). There's a bit of a drop there for our son to access the slide, he's very cautious about it. The stairs can be attached on the left or right side, with separate instructions for each. It took my fiancé and me about 6 hours to completely assemble. This bed took 6 or 7 days to come in, when it was delivered some pieces of the cardboard were broken, but it didn’t really change anything. There are a few scratches on the bed, honestly I can’t do anything about it so it’s useless worrying about it.me and my sisters built this bed in the span of 10 hours. We were stuck of a few parts which is normal I guess, overall it was simple looking back at it. It’s very sturdy and strong, we got full over fully, only reason why I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 stars is simply because of the delivery and a few scratches on the bed, that’s only fair. Everything else is great. Beds very sturdy like I said, and walnut is a gorgeous color! I selpent some time looking for the perfect bunk for me and my lil sis.
