Love this daybed! For those reading these reviews, I’m starting to question the intelligence of those that are saying it took 3 people and was a pain, etc. I put this bed together by myself and it took me about 1.5-2 hours! I think some folks just can’t follow directions or read It would have been easier with help as I had to be pretty flexible to hold the spindles while securing the pieces but I was too impatient to wait on my husband. I love how it looks and it seems sturdy! Impressed with the quality with how affordable it is! This clever bench features bobbin turnings on the arms, legs, and stretchers, and a sweetly scalloped apron. The seat is hand-tied rush and the seat divider makes this the perfect "time out" bench when there are cries from the children. Serviceable in an entryway, this bench would also be a happy tableside or at the foot of your bed.

This bench was a very pleasant surprise. I wanted the William Yeoward, Jonathan Charles bench but at $1,900 I decided I would 'settle' for the Emmalee bench instead. I was SHOCKED to see its gorgeous quality and that it is identical to the more expensive one. The color I got says "natural" but as you can see in my photos it is not that; instead it is a beautiful brownish gray, much dressier than a natural finish. The size is identical to the more expensive one, and the construction is substantial, sturdy and very high quality. The cane seating is thick and sturdy. Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame.
