Just got this today, and set it up for my sister-in-law at her assisted living studio. We wanted her to be able to elevate her legs in a recliner and to be able to sleep there as well because of her leg swelling and mobility issues. This is a real quality item. Heavy, sturdy, and full-featured, with customizable heat and massage, easy to access and operate wired controls (two sets, one for the chair’s back, legs, full recline, lift and one for heat and massage). Both are really easy to use. The materials in the chair are quality with faux leather that is attractive and comfortable. The chair’s support and cushioning are superb. Assembly was easier than I expected, but still took some time. I did the assembly all by myself, but had help with getting the boxes into her studio. They are heavy (which is a good thing when it comes to furniture like this). Assembly took about an hour with a very clear and substantial instruction booklet (large pages and print which is nice for my sister-in-law to have as a reference). There are two plug-ins, so keep that in mind. Everything tested out perfectly, and my sister-in-law was able to operate it right away. The lift feature will seriously get you out of the chair in an almost upright position! Really well-designed. There are a lot of lay-flat lift recliners on the market, and I feel doing the extra research helped me avoid some poor options. This one is a keeper! We got this for my wife and her upcoming hip replacement surgery recovery. Very comfortable chair, not huge, fit's my 5'-1" wife well, well made, sturdy, smooth operating lift mechanism that does not travel as fast as the other Flexsteel reclining furniture that we have. (Not a bad thing, you wouldn't want a lift chair raising you up on your feet too quickly, causing you to loose your balance.) The faux leather fabric has a nice rich feel and actually feels like leather. I assembled the chair myself after delivery. Very simple to do. No tools required. Good directions. Only negative was that the chair was supposed to be delivered by FedEx, but Fedex passed it off to a 3rd party company (probably because of the Christmas surge in deliveries). Had I of not been outside and heard a truck's back-up alarm, the 3rd party deliverymen were about to drop the chair at the street, 200 yds from our house. We actually shopped at a very high-end furniture store in town before getting this one, and honestly, this chair from Wayfair beats the lift chair recliners they had BY FAR! We got this for my mother, who has a very small room and is pretty tiny herself. Her last chair was smaller, and after getting this one, I have to say — even though it’s probably a little large for her room — I wouldn’t go back. That old chair just wasn’t comfortable or well made. This chair was very easy to assemble and the chocolate brown looks great in the room. My only complaint is that the 3 boxes the chair comes in were shipped separately and the third piece (which happened to have been the base) came 4 days after the other 2 boxes so the free 3 day shipping wasn’t true and we were unable to assemble until that third box arrived.
