Took a chance on this one since there weren't many reviews and glad I did. Very solid built. I plan to use this as an aquarium stand for a 35 gallon tank (probably 300lbs) and there won't be any problems. I'm a semi-handy person and I was putting this together on my own then my husband jumped in to help. In total took us maybe an hour. Alone, maybe would take 1.5 hours. And I know doors are always a problem when putting cabinets together and this one was not a problem. Lined up pretty well without much fuss. Black walnut color is spot on. Not too dark like some can be. You can still see the grain. And this is solid wood too. Not that cheap particle board stuff. Came with 2 shelves but I only put one in. The plant pot is a bright white color so you can see what the stain color looks like. Side note: I very much appreciate that nearly all of the packaging is recyclable. There was no styrofoam.. Jenny. We are using this as a sideboard/bar in our dining room. I looked for a "distressed" black sideboard for a long time that was the right size to fit our small space, but tall enough to comfortable pour drinks and have plenty of storage space inside. Both sides have an adjustable shelf that can go up or down a notch. It took me a minute to figure out the shelf can only be moved after removing screws underneath that secure the shelf to the shelf brackets (I assume for transporting). I chose not to put the screws back in once I adjusted the shelf - no need for it, and it will make it easier to move the shelf again should I decide to. The distressed finish is actually a little more than what I thought it would be, but I don't mind since it goes well with my old window frame hanging above it. The depth of the credenza is also nice and allowed for a large lamp and tray. My only concern will be the durability of the wood. I looked for a mango wood or similar and took a gamble with this which is made of boxwood. It isn't as thick and sounds a bit hollow if you knock on the top of the piece, but the credenza is quite heavy and I am pleasantly surprised by how substantial it feels. Would recommend.. Andrea. It does not feel like a sturdy cabinet at first until you secure the white plastic pieces on the back panel then the cabinet is very secure. These are heavy cabinets. Two of the four doors did not balance out perfectly but overall the look is classic and stylish. Loads of storage in them. It did take up almost the entire wall of a 12’ x 11 foot room however it does not overwhelm the room or make it feel crowded. Only downsides: unsealed wood, though pleasantly rustic, is not easy to keep clean in a kitchen; that's just the nature of unsealed wood.
