I would absolutely recommend having two people, plenty of space, and a whole lot of patience. That being said, the instruction manual was surprisingly clear and helpful. There are simply a LOT of pieces and steps involved. Once assembled, though Worth it. They look like much more expensive pieces of furniture and completely transformed our homeschool room. I especially love all of the drawers, cabinets, shelving, and built-in desktop outlets. If you’re willing to survive the assembly process, I highly recommend them. I’m extremely happy with this desk. The wood top is exceptionally nice and I did purchase an inexpensive faux leather blotter to protect it from my scribbles—it’s quite handsome and I don’t want to ruin it in a clumsy moment. Good quality for the price. It did take 4-5 hours to assemble as others said in their reviews, but it went together perfectly and is solid. The factory workers did an exceptional job of packing and labeling everything. It does need to be placed against a wall rather than having the back face the room. The large “file drawer” is not sized like a file cabinet would be (smaller) but file folders will fit. It’s a small-ish desk…not an “executive desk,” but for me it has plenty of storage and I especially like having the two-shelf cabinet at bottom left. Beautiful desk set! Purchased the small and larger desk and hutch and all 3 came fully assembled. Everything was packaged well, no damage to any of the pieces. The boxes were extremely heavy and hard to move upstairs but aside from that it was nice to just unpack everything and move it into place. Young men were strong but when I requested they take off wrapping in garage area, they didn’t listen and brought pieces inside and I had to clean area behind them. I ordered this hutch to put on top of my husbands very large desk for the purpose of decluttering the desk. It is high quality and pretty heavy. I have purchased other furniture items from Wayfair and although it takes a few hours to put together, it is very worth the savings. The desk and hutch are quality made. The ordering process was painful because the Wayfair description does not match the SKU number. So I thought I was ordering the desk and hutch together. Only the hutch showed up. Called Wayfair to explain. They said they were sending a desk. Another hutch showed up. I refused the delivery. WHa torefund the order and order the desk separately. The desk description said it came with a keyboard tray and chair. Only a desk was delivered. Called Wayfair who passed information on to the manufacturer. Manufacturer said it did not come with a keyboard tray or chair but offered a discount as a courtesy. Wayfair and the manufacturer need to get together to fix and match the SKU numbers to the correct descriptions. But the desk and hutch are very nice and very, very heavy and solid. It has more style with the sliding drawers, costs a lot less, but did not come with a separate file cabinet like the 1st, but do not need it as this one has 2 file drawers. And the best part, is it has a electric recepitcal on the top of the desk for a lamp or another appliance if needed. And it fits in my ensuite walk-in closet (which is my little craft room).
