Great fountain! Works beautifully. I placed it in an old half round firepit and added more rocks and plants. I might add that the female end of the lights is tucked way up inside the fountain and you need to pull it out to connect it to the male end. Also there is a black mesh square that is a filter to be put in front of the water return in the bottom pool. I cut mine in half. There is no mention of this in the parts list or instructions.. My fountain was easily assembled however the problem I discovered was that in order to use the light, I needed two outlets and I already was using one for my patio lights. So I plugged the light to the fountain into the automatic timer and it comes on now when my outside lights do. It works perfectly and l’m pleased. The sound was very important to me because I’ve had fountains before that made a hollow sound and not very relaxing, this one is soothing as it cascades over the rippled edges and doesn’t splash outside the fountain.. This fountain is very easy to assemble, producing a soft echo sound that cannot be heard at a distance, and little to minimal splash.
