These solar lights are beautiful but I have tried and tried to remove the plastic cover off the solar panel area on one of them. I even read that I could use warm water and that did not work. I also read you can warm it up with a blow dryer and that did not work. I am being extra careful to not damage the surface. I ordered these solar powered pathway lights to illuminate and give a little touch of ambiance to the walkway down the side of my house. These lights came very well packaged and took two minutes to assemble/connect the ground bases. They turned on immediately and I was in love with the perfect white light they provided. 1. Turn on the switch and charge the solar nanel in full sunlight foat least 8 hours before the first use. 2. In cloudy weather or winter, charging time may be longer and working time may be shorter, which is normal for solar lamps and should not be considered as quality problem. 3. If the ground is too hard, do not twist or hammer it with force. Try to soften the ground with water and then insert into the ground. 4. Be sure to turn on the switch and install it in a locatioon where the sun can shine directly on the solar panel.
