These were perfect! I actually drilled holes in the wood on top of my pool fence and set them through the holes about 6 feet apart and on either side of the gateway ,instead of putting them in the ground, and it looks really cool at night. Edit despite being cheaply made they really do put off a nice flame like glow. For that we love them. One was broken when I opened the package. They are very cheaply made. They are charging in the sun. Ill know soon how the lighting is. I recently ordered 2 other types of solar lights and paid about half of what these cost. At dusk, they literally pop up and light up, giving you lights along a pathway, driveway, deck, or dock that aren't in your way during the day. Prior to first use, charge the light for two sunny days. If battery capacity reduces over time, switch the light off for 3-5 sunny days in order to boost the batteries. It is very nice however hardwiring is not an option for me. The small light that is powered by the solar battery does not put off very much light. It is very dim compared to other solar lights I have on my property. Since I was installing mine on a wood rail I had to find 4 screws that were long enough to fit the base. The solar outdoor post light is very well made. It comes in sections that are screwed together. The base has holes to insert the included concrete expansion bolts. The description says it can be placed on grass but to do so requires a 1” 6’ long post, the full length of the light, inserted in the ground and long landscape pins or tent pegs to secure it from falling over. Luckily I had a 1” diameter 6’ steel flag holder that had two ground pegs and I was able to assemble it around it. I’m really amazed and pleased that the light turned on at dusk and stayed on until 6 am! It had only charged half a day!
