Unfortunately, the flickering flame lanterns were both damaged at the bottom of the frames when we got them. We got new ones shipped out immediately, they arrived the next day. These lanterns are beautiful! I got the bronze. They are well made with attention to detail. The instructions state to charge them for 6 hours. I received them at 3:45 pm. My apartment faces east, and the sun was already over my apartment building, no longer on my balcony or coming in any windows. I set them on the balcony receiving only daylight. At dark, they lit right up full power. So, either they were already charged, or the daylight was adequate for charging. I get only about 3 hours of sun on my balcony due to trees and the building east of mine being higher on a ridge and blocking sun at times , so they have never been charged for 6 hours straight.
