This lantern is beautiful both during the day and at night. It has illuminated for about 7.5 hours — the entire time it’s dark outside — and the light pattern it casts is wide and stunning, depending on where it’s placed. I was able to attach them to our wysteria vine using clothespins, to drape them across our garage, on the patio side. The on-off switch was perfect, and I just had to turn on the switch, once it was dark. They provided extra lighting, as well as a festive atmosphere, and looked very cute hanging above our garage door, in the vine. Paired them with other solar-powered lights both on the ground, as well as fairy string lights in our bushes. The bright pink added a great touch of color. I definitely would recommend these - they are fun and add a creative touch to your decorating. The lantern size globe is nice in the large size. It's been raining so I haven't had the opportunity to hang them. I did plug them in and test the solar panel, seems to work fine.
