Amazing what sticks in your head as an artist. One such memory was a project at craft camp as a child. We layered colored sand under glass to create patterns. Years later, I am still playing with patterns! Neutral colors layer on the surface of this hand-blown tapered glass vase. Pair with the additional pieces in the collection to complete the look.

I would have loved to purchase all three pieces of the set!! But I wasn't able to find one of the pieces. This vase is eye-catching, even without flowers. When decorated with flowers, the stalks of the bouquet fall softly to each side of the vase. The gentle curve of the vase and the straight, polished surface on the cut edge form a beautiful contrast. The products are made by experienced glassblowers, and slight tolerances in dimension or character-adding blisters may occur.

This vase is made in amber-colored interiors with pale blue exteriors. The Interior and exterior are originally shiny glass until the artisans apply a chemical etching to the exterior surface to help create a soft texture giving contrast to the shiny interior. The final design has been hand "pulled" while still molten into the shapes you see here and also "pinched" on the front edge to add special emphasis to the bulging shape where the trip originates.
