Those shelves are made of solid pine. The shelf is 1.75" thick. Each shelf bracket can hold up to 25lb per stud. Our shelves are made with love and passion. With a rustic look, these shelves are beautiful, robust, and elegant. I had a bit of trouble putting them up because the studs in my wall weren't spaced right they were to far apart to hit two studs. I ended up using one stud and 4 drywall anchors.
