The unfinished barn door is made of 100% natural spruce. The surface is unfinished and ready to be stained. The unfinished door can be stained or painted to the desired finish/color.

I actually did not realize these doors required assembling when I first purchased them. Thankfully, they were pretty easy to assemble, you do the frame first and then the pieces slide in together tongue & groove. They are not as thick as normal doors and the pieces rattle a little when you open/close the doors. I am giving this five stars because everything came intact. I could see once I get it up it will be exactly what I wanted. However, I was not thinking when I ordered it that my thermostat would be in the way. The reason why I do not have a picture of it fully up yet is because now I have to figure out how to bring it out at least by 2 inches so when the door slides back it will not interfere with the thermostat. Really solid door, paint finish is amazing, but it is not really very printable. It would need to be scuffed up well to take any paint, so when one side accidentally had trim applied to it and there were tiny nail holes after we removed the trim strip the painters were concerned about painting the whole door because the finish wouldn't be as good if they had to prep the whole door and eventually the paint-over could fail vs if we just kept most of the door untouched and just painted the one style to cover the small nail holes.
