I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. This is perfect for my needs, I just wanted something that looked nice but also was functional. The color is a very nice gray and it fits the small space I had. It is hard but not that uncomfortable. I won't know how well it last for a few months, but as of now I am really happy. It took my grandson a little over an hour to put together.
