The Viking 17pc Cutlery Set is designed for the home chef continuing to refine their cutlery handling skills. Featured in the set are both the most commonly used everyday knives like a Chef Knife, and Paring Knife, plus additional styles like the Boning Knife and 5” Serrated Utility Knife, to expand your cutlery library with more advanced blades that make easy work of any culinary task at hand. The premium German steel blades are designed to deliver the ideal balance between edge retention and the ability to sharpen the blade while withstanding years of use. The full tang triple riveted handles are ergonomically shaped to provide a secure and comfortable grip. The bolster end of the handle can also be used for crushing garlic, ginger, nuts, and more. The 16-slot cutlery block is made of sustainable Ash wood with Walnut color finish to compliment a wide variety of kitchen designs. This set includes: 8” Chef Knife, 7” Santoku Knife, 8” Carving Knife, 8” Bread Knife, 6” Boning Knife, 5” Serrated Utility Knife, 3.5” Paring Knife, 3.5” Serrated Paring Knife, 6 – 4.5” Steak Knives, 10” Sharpening Steel, Kitchen Shears, and an Ash wood block. Sujihiki Slicer. It is made in Tsubame City, Japan exclusively for Ginkgo Int'l Ltd in the Kataoka kitchen knife factory. The area's manufacturing history dates back some 400 years to the Edo Period starting with metal nails, venturing into samurai sword production, and now to some of the most sought after metal and kitchenware products in the country and around the world. The line is as beautiful as it is comfortable. Blades are finished with a hammered surface, and bead blast to accentuate the difference between the hard and soft layers.

This very attractive piece of cutlery makes me pleased to address a better than average cut of meat. The precision of the slicing and the pointed tip makes it 'special'. And, it did a masterful cutting of the Easter ham.. Ulysses. New Orleans, LA. Sun Apr 17 2022
