The rectangular stainless-steel can with removable liner bin fits any brand of 13-gallon trash bags. Its convenient design allows it to be placed right against a wall or cabinet, and the fingerprint-resistant finish keeps it clean longer.

We are obsessed with this trash can! So easy, so functional, and really pretty too. The only thing, and almost worth a star, is that we don’t understand why the back isn’t fully flat. The battery of the lid juts out in back, and there is all this extra space behind where the bag and inner compartment rests. Even if the battery pack needs to jut out, they could still easily shave an inch off the depth of this given all the extra space, which would make this even more attractive and perfect. We love it though, just be prepared to know it doesn’t sit fully flush against its backside. If they “fixed” this design element, we’d 100 go buy that model immediately and give it six stars.. Nina. Brabantia’s NewIcon step can, 7.9 gallons (30L) has an iconic design and is a reliable worker too. Sturdy, and always stands strong because of its non-slip base and anti-tilting block. Thanks to the unique soft-closure feature, it closes smoothly. And of course, this NewIcon step trash can is hygienic, odor-proof, easy to open, and clean. Perfect for your kitchen or any other room that could use 8 gallons of timeless design.

I searched carefully for a trashcan that would both look good in the kitchen and be the right size for a small household (1- 2 people). This one is perfect. I chose platinum because I didn’t want it to be too shiny. It’s tall enough (26 inches) to hold a 13 gal., tall kitchen trash bag, but narrow enough (11.5 inch diameter) that I can still open my cabinets. (See photos.) The capacity is only 8 gallons, but if the bag has a drawstring, it’s easy to make a 13-gal. gal bag fit well. It comes with three 8-gal. bags, but I like to use bigger bags so that I can add other trash to it before I take it out.. Dee. IL. Thu Jul 02 2026

A robust lock-tight handle keeps food in and pets out. The silicone gasket forms an airtight seal so food stays fresh. A convenient scoop attaches magnetically under the lid and is ideal for storing dog or pet food, or other bulk items like flour, rice, sugar, or charcoal.

Love this pet food container! I’m a big fan of simplehuman products and this is another great one. It’s the perfect size, looks really nice sitting out, and keeps our dog’s food fresh. I also love the built-in scoop with measurements - it makes portioning out food really easy and is one less thing to keep track of. Super simple, functional, and well made. Definitely worth spending a bit more on.. Tyler. Sun Sep 27 2026

So far, so good. Sometimes the motion sensor is sensitive and will go up if I walk by. That doesn’t happen all the time.. Anonymous. Fri Oct 16 2026

It's a little too large for my kitchen but .. I am keeping it, I'm very happy with the sleek look, matte black, bag doesn't show around the edges..and I'm not constantly emptying it. Nice large opening and the height means no stooping down to scrape plates etc.. Sheila. Penticton, BC. Thu Oct 15 2026
