10” thick mattresses of good quality are hard to find especially in local stores. Serta came through on this one. Definitely not too soft. May add a topper later. Tried two other beds prior from wayfair that were supposed to be plush but were very firm instead. This one actually is comfortable so far. It unrolled and took its proper form right away which was unlike the other two brick beds but it did Stink like chemical foam really strong for days. We could still smell it after 5 days. I ordered the 12-inch mattress, and Ill admit I was a little hesitant when I first unboxed it because it was still expanding. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this for mattress for my teenage son's room. He was ready for a good mattress. Overall we are very happy with this one. He says it is very comfortable, gives great support and he likes that the mattress isn't firm but on the softer side. He is a tall boy so it seems to be holding up good for the past month that he has been sleeping on it. His only complaint is that he would of liked to feel the cooling gels more. This mattress is used when we have guest as well. My mom slept on it and she gave her stamp of approval. Believe me when I say that my Mom would let me know if she didn't like it. My dad has also slept on it a few times and he also likes it but would of liked a more firmer mattresses (he is strange). Overall it is a very good mattress.
