Solid purchase for the price. Simple to put together and looks good. Took off one star because some of the screws for the hooks fell out the next day even without hanging anything from the hook. Plus a couple others pulled out of the wood after only a week of having a coat hung on it. I plan to get sturdier screws that will also bolt from behind for extra security. This hall tree has a really attractive design and, once fully assembled, it looks far more high-end than I expected for the price. The layout is practical, with plenty of hooks for coats, a convenient bench for seating, and cubbies underneath that are great for organizing shoes or baskets. It definitely creates that clean, built-in mudroom feel. That said, the assembly process was a bit frustrating. The hardware feels noticeably flimsy, which made me nervous while putting everything together. Some of the pre-drilled holes weren’t very durable and ended up stripping the wood during installation. The wood itself is quite soft, so it doesn’t take much pressure for screws to lose their grip, which can make certain steps tricky and require extra care. Despite those issues, once everything is put together, the unit does feel stable and holds together fine for everyday use. This is perfect for our entry space and makes the space feel so much bigger! I am not that handy and it felt easy to build my pieces while my boyfriend built another piece.
