I wish I knew the dimensions of the drop down before buying! It is not what I thought it was, but it is good for its intended purpose. I wish it would have stated the dimensions for the drop down panel. It is 15in x 8.75in. So if you have a really small sewing machine, it will work fine. Also, it is a little misleading. The panel doesnt drop and hide away the sewing machine. It drops down a max of 5.5in. So it is meant for dropping the sewing machine down so the table is level with the needle plate. So, it definitely works for that purpose for a small machine (you can see in the picture, there is no way I will be able to use the drop down feature). I have a Juki workhorse, so its not really what I wanted. But the lower shelf is big enough to fit my Juki, so I can have a fold out sewing machine desk and a place to hold my machine. Not exactly what I was looking for, but the price was decent. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece.
