Not bad. Its soft. The colors and print look like the picture. Its definitely good to have furniture on top. My only concern is the crease in the middle. Have to see if the material will allow steam.. Lisah. Coral Springs, FL. Fri Sep 18 2026

Fortunately the color was beige as described and not yellow as the first picture looked. my previous Wayfair rug came rolled up and spread out nicely. This one was folded up in a rectangle and was harder to unfold and remove creases & buckles. It does look nice, but still needs to flatten out more.. Esther. Goshen, IN. Fri Jan 16 2026

The thick pile French handwoven classic rug recreations of 18th-century designs have been fashioned using the finest of materials.

"A refined 4' x 6' hand woven wool French Aubusson rug this traditional floral design feels light decorative and balanced defined by its flat 0.10"" cut pile and cotton foundation. The softly layered khaki and beige field is organized around a central floral medallion encircled by gentle garlands and framed with a finely detailed border of scrolling vines small blossoms and classical ornamentation. Subtle accents of blush gray muted blue gold and warm brown move quietly across the surface creating depth through variation. The Aubusson style lends the rug a distinctly European character with motifs that feel airy symmetrical and intentionally spaced allowing the design to breathe. Fine needlepoint-style detailing gives the florals a delicate almost fresco-like quality and the rugs palette keeps the overall look calm and cohesive. Elegant without feeling formal this rug brings softness order and a sense of tradition to a space remaining easy to live with and visually composed."Story Behind the Art: French needlepoint rugs originated in 17th18th century France famously crafted in Aubusson and Savonnerie workshops for royal and aristocratic interiors. Featuring floral medallions and elegant scrollwork they were hand-stitched onto canvas using fine petit and gros point techniques. These rugs were heavily influenced by classical European art featuring floral medallions scrollwork garlands and pastel palettes. They were often used in palaces chteaux and salons woven with meticulous craftsmanship using the petit point and gros point techniques. By the late 20th century China became a major producer of French-style needlepoint rugs. Using centuries-old weaving and embroidery skills Chinese artisans began replicating Aubusson and Savonnerie designs on a global scale. These rugs are hand-stitched or handwoven often using wool on cotton canvas and maintain the look of antique French originals at more accessible price points.

It’s beautiful! It’s soft! It’s heavy! Very well-made. The middle is more of a sage green and the border around is more an olive green, but the colors are beautiful.. Alyssa. Sun Sep 27 2026

Glowing with the warmth of aged honey gold and preserved in excellent vintage condition this hand-knotted French Aubusson Savonnerie rug presents the classic medallion format of the Savonnerie tradition in a palette so gently faded and so harmoniously resolved that the entire piece reads as a single unified field of soft color rather than a composition of discrete design elements. The rug features a deep warm ivory gold field left largely open in the true Savonnerie spirit its generous uncluttered expanse drawing the eye to a single central floral medallion rendered in muted lavender sage green and blush its lobed form filled with a compact arrangement of roses and foliage that sits at the center of the composition. A scattering of secondary floral clusters in matching tones drifts across the lower field their loose informal placement reinforcing the relaxed garden-like quality of the overall design without interrupting the openness of the ground. The wide border carries a continuous scrolling vine of roses and leafwork in lavender mint blush and soft turquoise against the warm gold ground the botanical repeat moving around all four sides with an evenness and delicacy that frames the open field without competing with it. The plush pile carries every color at a tonal softness that only genuine vintage wool achieves the lavender mint and blush having settled over time into the gold ground with a naturalness that no artificially distressed rug can replicate. Hand-knotted in wool on a cotton foundation this is a Savonnerie of uncommon gentleness and real vintage integrity.Story Behind the Art: French needlepoint rugs originated in 17th18th century France famously crafted in Aubusson and Savonnerie workshops for royal and aristocratic interiors.
