We really like this bed, and that was based primarily on the island/tropical design/vibe and the great color choices (we went with Kiwi green...vibrant!) The bed appears to be well-made, but it is a bit pricey for its lightweight and simple construction and detailing. It also took a few weeks to receive the bed, but that seems to be typical with larger furniture items. This bed frame is absolutely gorgeous! It is heavy duty, high quality, and will last for years to come. It does require a boxspring. We ordered a 5” one because we have a 12” mattress. The headboard is a soft beige material with a good amount of padding to rest your back and be comfortable. The wood is a taupe wood with light texture and has rope accents to add an organic element. I just assembled this myself. Read the reviews because the instructions are a bit tricky. I’m a 53yr old woman with some fair DIY skills. I recommend a drill in place of the Allen wrench.
