I do think if you are short and use the maximum lumbar support you may need a footrest. My husband on occasion needed a second pair of hands. Mattress is fine, but the frame has an issue i can not turn off the lights under the bed everytime we get out of bed at night the light turns off it does not matter that on the controller I clicked off. The chair is still okay, although the person that’s using this chair is my husband that weights approximately 200lbs, the chair is starting to squeak when being sat on and swerving. Noticed we changed the chair wheels too since the original one broke and it really ultimately damaged the carpet where the chair normally is being used. Overall purchase is still good. The instructions to attach the armrests and the footrest were missing but it was easy to figure out by looking at the illustrations.
