It probably would have been ready around 24 hours, but we followed the directions and let it sit the full 72. It also had no smell, which was a plus. Tried two other beds prior from wayfair that were supposed to be plush but were very firm instead. This one actually is comfortable so far. It unrolled and took its proper form right away which was unlike the other two brick beds but it did Stink like chemical foam really strong for days. We could still smell it after 5 days.
