This canister was far more expensive than what I wanted to spend but this was the only place I could find replacements for two containers I had for easily twenty years. The acrylic canisters in the product posting I knew were exactly what I wanted...needed so badly. I never once had any issues with clumped sugar or unwanted 'things' in my flour. What I had in the old canisters like these never got stale or went bad. But the price of these new ones kept me from purchasing them. I had them saved, I had them in my cart and waited for them to go on sale. No sale ever happened. My old set the plastic on the handles had fallen off, the gaskets had gotten stiff. I washed them, tried gluing the gaskets in place. I loved my acrylic canisters with handles (I definitely wanted handles). I really liked how well my old canisters sealed and had a handle for easy grabbing the flour or sugar out of the pantry. I couldn't imagine large canisters without handles and not being able to see easily see if I needed to buy more flour or sugar. The size I had easily fit an entire bag of unbleached flour or a bag of sugar. I had these acrylic kitchen canisters on my kitchen list for so long because of the price. They never went on any kind of sale. Finally, after watching them for so long, I bought myself a couple of expensive birthday gifts. I could no longer 'MacGyver' the old ones. They had served me well. To my relief and joy the new ones are almost identical to the old ones. Well made, seal tight like my old ones and have handles. These canisters are not cheap but they are so practical. They will never be considered attractive. They are not canisters to keep out on the counter. They are practical, functional and have handles. I have not regretted paying the price for them because they are so perfect. If you want your ingredients secure and fresh these are well worth the price. I was extremely pleased with these storage containers! I bought them in a pinch after impulsively purchasing four 25lb bags of different types of fresh milled flours. When I received the flours, I panicked when I saw on the bags that they needed to be kept refrigerated (or stored in freezer). Thankfully, I have a deep freezer that would allow for appropriate storage; however, I was at wits end on how to store them in a manner that I could also use it easily. I was looking for material other than plastic, since microplastics are so damaging. With glass not an ideal material for large freezer storage, I was in hunt of a stainless option. Thankfully, I found these beauties! They four fit perfectly along the bottom of the deep freezer without interfering at all with the 2 levels of freezer baskets above them. I was also pleasantly surprised that 98% of the 25lb bags fit perfectly in one container. I somehow thought it would be way less (my math/metric conversion skills are lacking;-). Anyway, I’m absolutely thrilled & when & if the time comes I no longer need these for flour, they will easily store water in case of an emergency. Btw, be sure to clean them out prior to use. Perfect size, not perfect shipping. These are the perfect size to hold 2-3 boxes of long pasta (spaghetti, angel hair, vermicelli, etc). I like that the opening is the same width as the jar so unlike my previous solutions, the pasta slides out rather than getting stuck in the "shoulder" of the jar. Jars feel very solid and well made. The seal is great but still easy to open and close. My only issue was that 1 of the 6 arrived completely shattered with glass all in the packaging box. The exterior shipping box looked okay and the product box was wrapped in bubble wrap, so I'm not sure how it happened.
