It has more style with the sliding drawers, costs a lot less, but did not come with a separate file cabinet like the 1st, but do not need it as this one has 2 file drawers. And the best part, is it has a electric recepitcal on the top of the desk for a lamp or another appliance if needed. And it fits in my ensuite walk-in closet (which is my little craft room). The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece.
