These chairs are compact but sturdy. I love the Mid Century Modern look to them. Unboxing was a bit frustrating—the Styrofoam crumbled everywhere, creating quite a mess, and the screws were taped to it, which made cleanup even more difficult when removing them. During assembly, pieces F and G (the lower cross bracing) were especially tricky to align, and many of the screws didn’t line up easily with the predrilled holes. Step 10 was particularly challenging, as there were no predrilled holes for those screws, making installation much harder than expected. Exactly what I needed as far as size, sturdiness, and looks, but I just wiped off the top and a whole section of varnish wiped right off. This is a really nice set of table and chairs. A bit tedious to assemble, but solid when complete. It looks really nice and we love that it has cushions and is bar height. We wont use them for a few months until our cottage is complete, but the set is the perfect size for a smaller building and wont take up a lot of space.
