I bought these in pink. I would not have imagined myself buying something so frou-frou but I did. I wanted black out curtains for my sewing room to keep fabrics and such from fading in the summertime or when I'm not doing much sewing. Also the old windows are leaky for air and I wanted something to help stop the cold or heat. I put these in a room wallpapered in blue and pink flowers, paired them with lace curtains, and the windows are directly side by side. This is a home built in 1891 and they look very nice with the style house. These frame the windows beautifully and the ruffles add a pretty element. These would be very pretty in a bedroom or a room used by a women who likes a feminine look. They have a look that would work well in a modern style home as well as in older homes. I love this curtain so much. I was looking for something I could hang above a window mounted A/C unit and this was just perfect. You do have to fuss with the bow ties to arrange attractively. The seams are messily sewn, with lots of loose threads. I also think the weight of the curtain "Unties" them after some time. Slightly longer ribbons would have allowed for more hanging height options and a prettier bow tie but even with the challenges its still the best man for the job.
